Privacy Policy
Controller and scope
Mengo is operated by Modapps (9412-5655 Québec Inc.). This policy describes information handled by the Mengo app and mengo.app website. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact info@mengo.app.
Account and sign-in
We process your email address, account identifier, and the first name, last name and phone number you provide in your profile. This information supports account management, sign-in, account recovery and support. Signing in with Apple or Google provides information permitted by your sign-in choice.
Finances and personal content
Information you enter includes accounts, balances, income, expenses, transactions, debts, payments, budgets, savings goals, credit score, tracked subscriptions, notes, lists and personal goals. It is stored on your device and synchronized with your account through Supabase to display your information and forecasts and make it available on your devices. The credit score is entered by you; entering it does not request a credit-bureau report. Avoid putting banking passwords or full card numbers in your notes.
Usage analytics
Mengo sends selected usage events, including feature interactions and interest in bank synchronization. These events are associated with your account and may include language, app version and Free or Premium status. They help us understand usage and plan improvements. Using an account identifier does not make these events anonymous.
Error diagnostics
Mengo versions that include this feature send technical reports linked to the signed-in account: time of the issue, operation type, error category and code, response status, app build number and occurrence count. These reports help identify outages and resolve problems. They do not include financial content, passwords or sign-in tokens. A local queue limited to 50 entries allows transmission when connectivity returns; entries older than 48 hours are discarded during processing. Only authorized administrators can view reports within a 30-day window. Older entries are gradually cleaned up, and account deletion removes its reports from the active database.
Notifications and email
If you enable notifications, an installation identifier, Apple APNs token, language, time zone and preferences are used to deliver reminders. You can disable notifications in app or iOS settings. Confirmation and recovery emails use Supabase and Resend. Website beta invitation requests use your email to contact you about the beta.
Weather and location
With your permission, Mengo uses your device location to request weather from Apple WeatherKit and a place name from Apple geocoding services. Accuracy depends on your settings and the information provided by iOS. Mengo synchronization code does not save this position in your financial record. You can revoke permission in iOS settings. Apple processing is also covered by its privacy information.
Premium purchases
Apple processes Premium subscription payments. Mengo processes transaction identifiers and verified subscription information to recognize, restore and synchronize Premium access. Verification uses Supabase and a service hosted on Railway that communicates with Apple. Mengo does not receive the card number used for your App Store purchase. Free or Premium status may also accompany usage events.
Providers and technical information
Supabase provides authentication and synchronization; Resend delivers emails; Railway hosts subscription verification; Apple provides purchases, notifications and weather. Cloudflare provides hosting, networking and security services for the website and service domain. Requests may generate technical logs containing IP address, time, device or software type and request or error information. The website also uses Cloudflare visit statistics. These services may process information outside Quebec and Canada depending on their infrastructure.
Use and disclosure
The processing described here supports Mengo functionality, service security, user requests and usage measurement. The reviewed integrations do not implement cross-app or cross-site targeted advertising or sale of data to a data broker. Providers receive information needed for their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Account data is retained to provide services while your account is active. You can edit your information and request account deletion in Mengo, or contact info@mengo.app to request access, correction or deletion. Some information may remain in backups or logs during their retention cycles or where needed for security or legal obligations. Deleting your Mengo account does not cancel your Apple subscription: manage that subscription separately in your Apple account settings.
